Re-development of a part brownfield / part greenfield site extending over a 30 hectare site area. The brownfield site area included deposits of significant anhydrite / blastfurnace slag made ground deposits with potential for future expansion on contact with water. Following detailed environmental risk assessment works and subsequent negotiation with the Environment Agency, a sustainable solution was utilised involving the excavation and controlled deposition of these materials in areas of future Public Open Space at the site.
